What Is the EB-5 Program?
The EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program is a United States visa program created by Congress in 1990 to stimulate the U.S. economy through capital investment and job creation by foreign investors. The program allows qualified foreign nationals and their immediate family members to obtain U.S. permanent residency (Green Cards) by making a qualifying investment in a U.S. business.
The EB-5 investor should select an EB-5 project that fulfills the job creation requirement of at least 10 full-time jobs for qualified U.S. workers for each EB-5 investment. This job creation requirement is fundamental to the program and ensures that foreign investment directly benefits the American economy. Through this pathway, investors gain the opportunity to live, work, and study anywhere in the United States while contributing to economic growth.
